CRS Racing is a British motor racing team, formed in late 2007 by Chris Niarchos and Andrew Kirkaldy. The team hit the headlines almost immediately by winning the first British GT race of the 2008 season and went on to take the teams’ title. Championship victory in Formula Renault and race victories in the FIA GT Championship completed a very successful first year for the new team.
Chris and Andrew first met when they raced together in the British GT Championship. At that time Andrew was running a Formula Renault team and at the end of 2006 Chris joined him as a partner and ‘AKA Cobra’ was born. This partnership sowed the seeds for a much bigger undertaking and at the end of 2007 CRS Racing was formed to compete not only in Formula Renault but in the world of GT racing as well.
Formula Renault is an important part of the CRS family. In 2008 the hard work paid off and Adam Christodoulou took the team’s first driver’s title. In 2010 CRS will continue to nurture young drivers as they set out on their careers in single-seaters.
“We’re not just in this to take part,” said Niarchos. “We’re here to win races and championships and we have a team that is capable of getting the top results. We work our drivers hard and every single member of the team is constantly pushing to be the best in their field. We love what we do and we hope we provide a lot of entertainment along the way.”
CRS Racing’s Formula Renault team is now at full strength following the recent signing of Victor Correa. The 19 year-old Brazilian raced in the National Class of the British F3 International Series last year but is now looking to Formula Renault, with the new cars and the competitive grid, to continue his single-seater career.
“Formula Renault will be a good challenge for me,” said Correa. “The new car looks very interesting and it will be a good opportunity for me to show what I can do in an equal car. I chose CRS because I think it is the best team with a very good structure and I think that, as a team, we can fight for the championship. I think we will have a good year together and hope that we can go out there and compete for victories.”
“We are very happy to have signed Victor,” said Team Director Andrew Kirkaldy. “He is an experienced driver and with a new car it is good for the team to have that experience to help us move forward. We’ve been going well in pre-season testing so we are all feeling optimistic about the season ahead of us.”

A CRS Racing é uma escuderia britânica criada no final de 2007 por Chris Niarchos e Andrew Kirkaldy. A equipe virou notícia quase que imediatamente, ao vencer a primeira corrida do campeonato britânico de FIA GT da temporada de 2008, e passou a ter o título de equipes. A conquista do campeonato de Fórmula Renault e as vitórias no FIA GT fizeram um ano de muito sucesso na primeira temporada da nova equipe.
Chris e Andrew se conheceram quando correram juntos no Campeonato Britânico de GT. Na época Andrew estava trabalhando em uma equipe de Fórmula Renault e, no final de 2006, Chris se juntou a ele como parceiro, criando a equipe 'AKA Cobra'. Esta parceria foi o início de uma empresa muito maior e no final de 2007 a CRS Racing foi formada para competir, não só na Fórmula Renault, mas no mundo das corridas de GT também.
A Fórmula Renault é uma parte importante da família CRS. Em 2008, o trabalho duro foi recompensado com Adam Christodoulou vencendo o primeiro título de pilotos para a equipe. Em 2010 a CRS continuará a apoiar jovens pilotos em suas carreiras em monopostos.
“Nós não estamos apenas para participar", diz Niarchos. "Estamos aqui para ganhar corridas e campeonatos e temos uma equipe que é capaz de chegar nos primeiros lugares. Nós exigimos bastante dos nossos pilotos e cada membro da equipe é constantemente acionado para ser o melhor no que faz. Nós adoramos nosso trabalho e esperamos proporcionar muita diversão ao longo desse caminho”.
A equipe CRS Racing chega com força total na Fórmula Renault 2010 com a contratação do piloto brasileiro Victor Correa. Aos 19 anos de idade, o piloto de Minas Gerais correu na Nacional Series da Fórmula 3 inglesa no ano passado, mas agora irá competir na Fórmula Renault, que tem novos carros e um grid competitivo, para continuar crescendo em sua carreira nos monopostos.
“A Fórmula Renault será um excelente desafio para mim”, revela Victor. “O novo carro é muito interessante de guiar, com bastante downforce, e será uma boa oportunidade para mostrar o que posso fazer. Escolhi a equipe CRS por ser o melhor time e contar com uma estrutura excepcional. Penso que, como equipe, nós podemos brigar pelo título. Acredito que teremos um bom ano juntos e espero que possamos lutar por vitórias”.
“Estamos muito felizes de ter assinado com Victor”, afirmou o diretor e chefe de equipe Andrew Kirkaldy. “Ele é um piloto experiente e com um carro novo nas mãos é bom para a equipe ter essa bagagem dele, para nos ajudar a crescer. Fomos bem nos testes de pré-temporada, então estamos todos muito otimistas para o decorrer do ano”.
